100% Mexican Blue Agave
Tequiero production begins with the cultivation of the agave plant in the highlands of Jalisco , one of the most desirable regions for tequila production due to its climate, rich soil and high elevation.
It takes at least 8 years for an agave plant to reach maturity. After eight years of intensive care, the jimadors harvest each plant, carefully selecting each agave based on its maturity and sweetness.
Steaming
After harvest, the agaves are steamed, maintaining the age-old tradition of slow cooking, helping to maintain the strong agave flavor without the risk of caramelization.
Natural fermentation
The natural fermentation process lasts from 36 to 40 hours, before moving on to distillation.
Distillation
The first distillation removes any trace of wax or dust from the original plant, creating a liquid alcohol. When distilled a second time, the liquid alcohol turns into tequila. It is distilled a third time to obtain the smooth taste that distinguishes Tequiero.
Aging
The distillation product is then matured in oak barrels for 9 months.
